Movie Collector from Collectorz, to borrow the motto from the board game Othello, takes a minute to learn, but a lifetime to master. Every time you launch the software there is some other hidden feature, functionality and tool designed to make your DVD collection more complete and comprehensive.
We really liked Movie Collector’s ease of use, automatic upload and extensive DVD details. Movie Collector also supports external barcode scanners for even easer movie upload. Unfortunately, keeping Movie Collector out of our #1 spot is that the standard version we reviewed is missing some features that are common on other DVD Collection software most notably a loan manager.
Movie Collector does include these additional features in their Pro version. If you are willing to spend a few extra dollars for additional functionality upgrade to Movie Collectors Pro.

Movie Collector has one of the broadest selections of media we reviewed. In addition to uploading DVDs and Blu-ray discs, you can categorize your movies as VHS, videoCD, Hi8, Xvid and more. Additionally, they even have VHS support in their automatic upload.
